Making Winter Safer for Pets

At EzPz.pet, we are committed to helping pet owners make safer, smarter choices for their furry friends. Our platform provides expert-backed recommendations on pet-friendly products that prioritize safety, sustainability, and quality. We believe that every pet parent deserves access to reliable, non-toxic solutions for seasonal challenges like winter ice and snow.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Safe Paw, a leader in pet-safe, non-toxic ice melt solutions. Unlike traditional de-icers that contain harmful salts and chemicals, Safe Paw is 100% chloride-free, eco-friendly, and gentle on pet paws. This collaboration ensures that pet parents can protect their companions during winter without worrying about toxic ice melts.

Keeping Your Pets Safe from Snow in 3 Easy Steps

Winter can be tough on pets, especially when snow, ice, and chemical de-icers pose a threat to their health. Cold weather and traditional ice melts can cause paw irritation, dry skin, and even toxicity if ingested. Here are three simple ways to keep your pet safe from winter hazards:

Step-1 Keep Them Inside

Cold weather outside– Pets are extremely sensitive to wind chills, even if the temperature is above the freezing point. They can get hypothermia and frostbite – the common winter dog injuries during winters.

Hypothermia is a condition when the body temperature falls considerably. Its symptoms are- paleness of skin, shivering, and listlessness to the point of lethargy.

Dogs and cats can also suffer from frostbites on delicate body parts like earflaps, tail tip, and in between the toes.

Sharp-edged ice and chemical-based ice melts outside– The sharp edges of ice particles outside and the chemical-based ice melts can cause winter paw injuries in pets. Burning sensation, cracks, and cut on the paw pad and broken nails are common consequences.

Therefore, it is advisable to keep them inside. Pets should not be left outside in freezing temperatures for more than 30 minutes.
